Turn, Turn, Turn

As the season turns and spring begins to unfold, there’s a quiet sense of return in the air. Light lingers a little longer. The earth softens. What has been resting begins to stir again. Repetition lives everywhere in nature. Everything is in rhythm. Everything is in return.

  • The breath rising and falling.

  • The steady rhythm of the heartbeat.

  • The ocean offers each wave back to the shore.

  • The moon returns to fullness and dissolves again into darkness.

  • The quiet spiral of growth held inside the rings of a tree.

Repetition, in this way, is not about going in circles. It is a deepening. A spiral inward.... a softening into what is already here. Sun Salutation A is a physical expression of this same idea, repeating a simple sequence until it becomes fluid, steady, and almost effortless. In that repetition, awareness deepens, and the practice starts to move you, rather than the other way around.

There’s a reason these practices have been passed down for so long. It clears a path. It reveals something steady and luminous beneath the surface of thought.
